Hey there, beer lovers!
Let me take you on a hoppy journey through the bustling brewery scene of Brno. As an Erasmus student with a passion for craft beer, I embarked on a quest to discover the best brews this city has to offer. Spoiler alert: most of them were fantastic, but there was one hiccup along the way. Here's the rundown:
Pegas Craft Beer Pub: My first stop was at Pegas, a cozy pub tucked away in the heart of the city. With over 30 taps featuring local and international brews, I was like a kid in a candy store. I opted for a flight of their house specialties, from crisp lagers to bold IPAs. The friendly staff even offered recommendations based on my preferences, making it a truly personalized experience. Prost to Pegas for setting the bar high!
Lepší Časy: Next up was Lepší Časy, a hidden gem favored by locals. The laid-back atmosphere and impressive selection of Czech microbrews instantly won me over. I struck up conversations with fellow beer enthusiasts, swapping stories and sharing recommendations. The highlight? Tasting a rare barrel-aged stout that left my taste buds tingling with delight. Lepší Časy, you've earned a permanent spot on my brewery bucket list.
Pivní Lázně Bernard: My final brewery adventure took an unexpected turn at Pivní Lázně Bernard. Touted as a beer spa where patrons can soak in hop-infused baths while sipping on cold ones, I was intrigued. However, my excitement quickly fizzled out when I arrived to find a crowded, touristy atmosphere. The beer selection was mediocre at best, and the novelty of the beer spa felt more gimmicky than rejuvenating. Lesson learned: sometimes, the hype doesn't live up to reality.
Despite the minor setback, my beer odyssey in Brno was nothing short of epic. From quaint pubs to hidden gems, each brewery offered a unique glimpse into the city's vibrant beer culture. So, fellow beer enthusiasts, raise your glasses and toast to the brews and blues of Brno!
Cheers,
